The tool (1) is adapted for fitting the sleeve onto a rigid tube before fitting it over the cable. The tool is used to remove the sleeve from the tube after it has been fitted over the cable and comprises a first movable part (4) acting against the sleeve and a second movable part (5) acting against the tube during the removal of the sleeve from the tube. A drive unit (6) is used to move these two parts.
