The sealing skirting board (5) covers a crack (3) between the edge of the floor slab (1) and a masonry wall (2). It has a gently curved portion (7) between the horizontal portion on the floor and the vertical portion in contact with the wall. The skirting board may be made of plastics including PVC, rubber, linoleum or some other suitable material. A pad (8) is placed on the convex outer corner of the L-section skirting board. The thickness of the skirting board may be 5 mm and the pad may be 8 mm thick. The portion of the floor makes a butt joint (6), which may be welded, with the floor covering (4). The radius of the curved portion is more than 28 mm.
