Down's syndrome diagnosis method in which the serotonin receptors 5- HT1A, 5-HT1B and 5-HT2B are used as marker proteins and a target for forming active connections to pharmaceutical preparations
Down's syndrome diagnosis method in which the serotonin receptors 5- HT1A, 5-HT1B and 5-HT2B are used as marker proteins and a target for forming active connections to pharmaceutical preparations
Method for diagnosis of Down's syndrome has the following steps: provision of a blood or serum sample from a pregnant woman, determination of the quantity of at least one protein selected from the group comprising 5-HT1A receptor, 5-HT1B receptor and 5-HT2B receptor, comparison of the detected quantity with a standard quantity for the protein or proteins in a non-Down's syndrome sample and diagnosis of Down's syndrome, if for 5-HT1A receptor the quantity is below the standard amount by a threshold amount or for 5-HT1B and 5-HT2B receptors above the standard amount by a given quantity. The invention also relates to a corresponding kit for detection of Down's syndrome especially by the detection of antibody proteins.
