portable system for performing elemental chemical analysis based on emission spectroscopy of laser-induced plasmas.; Portable instrument based on laser for performing elemental chemical analysis comprising a sampling probe, which houses inside the laser head and anchoring systems of the focusing optics of the laser beam and collection of the light generated by plasma. This probe ends in an adjustable nozzle that allows the laser focus within a range of constant and independent work of sample thickness. At its opposite end it is attached to an umbilical containing the control and power wiring of the laser head. The other end of the umbilical is connected to the main unit that houses the power supply of the laser, a spectrograph, an electro-optical sensing device and a computer that performs control of the instruments, acquisition, data processing and chemical elemental quantification.
