The insulating block has a lightweight ceramic core portion formed with a plaster layer at one surface, and a thin plaster layer formed on the other surface. A plate, made of insulating material and formed with cross-sectional straight slots and parallel tapered bars, is arranged facing and in contact with the plaster layer. Longitudinal projections and tapered sections are formed at two contiguous edges of the insulating block, and inlets formed at the opposite edges of the blocks. The inlets are formed having identical configuration as the longitudinal projections.
