A process for producing a multifilamentary conductive tape ofthe type comprising a plurality of layers of a high-temperaturesuperconducting material, incorporated in a mutually spacedrelationship within a metal matrix, comprises the steps of: a)submitting to plastic deformation individual metal tubesincluding a precursor of a superconducting material, so as toobtain a plurality of elementary tapes structurally independentfrom one another; b) coupling the tapes so obtained by means ofa heat treatment at a temperature and for a time sufficient toestablish a stable mutual connection between said tapes. Themultifilamentary tape so obtained or possibly the independenttapes, are then subjected to at least one sintering step, whichmay be followed by one or more cycles of plastic deformation andsintering. Advantageously, the process of the invention allowsto increase the fill factor of the tape, with a correspondingincrease in the critical current in superconductivityconditions.
