Described is a stamping foil, in particular a hot stamping foil,which has decorative or security elements in a region-wise manner. Inorder to ensure that, upon transfer of thedecorative or security elementsor other decoration layer structure, only the regions which are intendedto be transferred onto the substrate are actually so transferred, it isproposed that at least the adhesive layer is provided only in aregion-wise manner and in matching relationship with respect to a furtherlayerwhich is also present only in a region-wise manner, or with respect tothe decorative or security elements which are provided only in aregion-wise manner.
