The invention is directed to a composition and its use in treating pain,pyrexia and inflammation comprising an NSAIS as the active ingredient, ametasilicate, a first disintegrant and second disintegrant resulting inincreased absorption of poorly soluble NSAIS~s and increased absorption insuppressed vagal systems. The preferred composition comprises ibuprofen on ametasilicate matrix, sodium bicarbonate as the first disintegrant and tartaricacid as the second disintegrant. The composition may also contain additionalpharmaceutically acceptable excipients.
