A coloration assisting system for realizing coloration suited to the image that the user has. A coloration assisting device (100) receives document data constituting a document, acquires color information on the colors given to the document according to the acquired information, selects a coloration rule matching the coloration of the document from the coloration rules stored in a coloration rule record DB (10) according to the acquired color information, determines matching color group matching the coloration rule out of the colors given to the documents, associates the name of each coloration rule with a coloration palette composed of the matching color group and displays the name and the coloration palette for each coloration rule.
