PRECURSOR OF GEL ELECTROLYTE LAYER FOR DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL AND DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL

A precursor of gel electrolyte layer for dye-sensitized solar cell that facilitates handling during battery production and realizes a high photoelectric conversion efficiency of battery; and a relevant dye-sensitized solar cell. There is provided dye-sensitized solar cell (10) comprising transparent substrate (12a) and, superimposed thereon with adhesion, transparent conductive film (14a) and metal oxide semiconductor layer (16) and further comprising an electrode carrying sensitizing dye layer (18) and an electrode composed of transparent glass plate (12b) furnished with transparent conductive film (14b) with adhesion and further sputtering vapor deposited with a highly conductive metal, wherein electrolyte layer (22) of gelled electrolyte is disposed in a sealed space created between the two electrodes by the use of separator (20). The electrolyte layer (22) is one resulting from disposing of an electrolyte loaded with a crosslink precursor between the electrodes, followed by reacting of the crosslink precursor so as to attain crosslinking and achieve gelling of the electrolyte. The crosslink precursor in other words is a gel electrolyte layer precursor and is composed of inorganic particles and an organic substance reacting with the surface of inorganic particles when heated, or two or more types of organic substance reacting when heated.
