Method of playing multimedia files/works, whose principle consists in that during playing a primary multimedia file/work according to control information the playing of at least one component of the primary multimedia file/work from a group of audio component, video component is interrupted, whereas while interruption of playing of at least one of the primary multimedia file/work components, a component of an appropriate type (audio or video) of at least one other multimedia file/work is being played, then after playing a defined part of the appropriate component of at least one other multimedia file/work the playing of the other multimedia file/work is interrupted, and playing of the primary multimedia file/work is started at the position defined by the control information by means of which a new continuous and for the viewer uninterrupted multimedia product/work presented on an output device is formed.
