A method for the local sub-network discovering the border object of the corresponding sub-network includes: the local sub-network acquires the identify information of the corresponding sub-network; the external relationship of the local sub-network border object is looked for all over to determine whether or not the identification parameters of the border objects outside directed by the external relation match the obtained identification information of the corresponding sub-network, if they match each other, the external border object is determined to be the border object of the local sub-network in the corresponding sub-network. A device for the local sub-network discovering the border object of the corresponding sub-network includes: a communication unit for acquiring the identify information of the corresponding sub-network; a inquiry unit and a judging unit for inquiring and judging the matched relation; and a determination unit for determining the destination border object. By using this invention, the local sub-network can find the border object which has the external relation with the local sub-network in the correlative sub-network automatically, and this invention can improve the efficiency of the automatization of the communication management system, reduce the work load of the people so as to reduce the cost.
