BAMBOO CHARCOAL, BAMBOO CHARCOAL POWDER, CARBONIZATION PRODUCT, AND PROCESSES FOR PRODUCING THESE

Bamboo charcoal is provided which is produced by burning a bamboo material, other suitable wood, etc. so as to obtain white charcoal and which produces a long-lasting fire and burns at high temperatures like Bincho charcoal. Also provided are a bamboo charcoal powder, a carbonization product, and processes for producing the charcoal, powder, and carbonization product. A bamboo material is put in a primary burning oven (1) and temporarily burnt at a relatively low temperature of 400-700°C. The fire is put out and the material is gradually cooled while keeping the primary burning oven (10a) closed to thereby produce black charcoal [black charcoal formation step (S1)]. Thereafter, this first bamboo charcoal, which is a black charcoal, is put in a secondary burning oven (20) and burnt at a high temperature of 800°C or above. The fire is put out and the charcoal is cooled without using an extinguishing powder and without taking the charcoal out of the secondary burning oven (20) to thereby produce a white bamboo charcoal equivalent [white charcoal equivalent formation step (S2)]. This second bamboo charcoal, which is a white charcoal equivalent, is crushed with a crusher (30) into any desired particle size to produce a bamboo charcoal powder [crushing step (S3)]. This bamboo charcoal powder is compacted and molded into a desired shape with a press (40). Thus, the solid charcoal is finished as a final product [compaction step (S4)].
