A cold storage material, comprising bismuth or bismuth/antimony alloy grains wherein the content of grains of 0.14 to 1.6 mm diameter is ≥ 70 wt.% based on the total weight of grains, and wherein the content of grains of ≤ 5 ratio of major axis to minor axis is ≥ 70 wt.% based on the total weight of grains. Thus, there is provided a cold storage material that is environmentally friendly and easy to spheroidize, having satisfactory mechanical strength for utilization, and that is inexpensive and realizes excellent thermal properties when used in a refrigerator.
