It is possible to realize an information providing system capable of providing a bonus for data communication and assuring user anonymity for the site without requiring a complicated user operation. A terminal device (10) includes: secure communication means (11) for performing data communication by establishing a secure communication session between the terminal device (10) and an information server (20); electronic gift rule management means (12) for holding an electronic gift rule defining the condition of the electronic gift; and data processing means (13) for processing the data transmitted/received to/from the information server under the secure communication session according to the electronic gift rule so as to generate an electronic gift. The electronic gift generated by the data processing means is reflected in the electronic value. By setting an electronic gift rule according to which the electronic value is increased by the electronic gift, a user can automatically acquire an electronic value by performing data communication with the information server without performing a complicated operation. Here, the user need not disclose his/her personal information to the information server.
