An oscillating sprinkler (10) is disclosed which comprises at least one base, a spray pipe (45) rotatable in oscillating fashion with respect to the at least one base and having a plurality of nozzles (47) for spraying liquid from the interior of said spray pipe (45), and a self contained fertilizing unit (3) for delivering a fertilizer solution to the interior of the spray pipe (45). By introducing fertilizer into a fertilizer reservoir (30) and admitting water into the sprinkler (10), such as by a control valve (20), a drive mechanism imparts rotary motion to, and pressurizes, the admitted water, whereby fertilizer solution is propelled to a target location together with the pressurized water.
