The present invention relates to a method for producing a solvent-soluble hole transporting material capable of imparting hole transporting ability to a polysiloxane resin. This material corresponds to the following formula (1).;[Formula 1];A- [R 1 SiR 23-n Q n ] p;In Chemical Formula 1,;A is a tertiary amine or an organic group derived from a compound having a hole transporting capacity and ionizing, having a potential of 4.5 to 6.2 eV,;R 1 is an alkylene group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms,;R 2 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group or halogen-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 15 carbon atoms,;Q is a hydrolyzable group such as -OR 3 , wherein R 3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms,;n and p are 1 to 3, respectively.;Such silicon-based hole transport materials are aromatic substituted tertiary amines having a plurality of aromatic groups and alkoxysilyl groups introduced into the aromatic ring via hydrocarbon groups.
