Process for producing photocatalytically active TiO2 particles and substrates with photocatalytic TiO2 layer

A substrate comprises a photocatalytic layer comprising photocatalytically active titanium dioxide and a matrix material. The titanium dioxide is contained in a concentration gradient that it is enriched on the surface of the photocatalytic layer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) the production of the substrate; and (2) the production of the photocatalytically active titanium dioxide.
