Pharmaceutical composition comprising chitosan, chitosanoligosacchar ide and an extract of grapefruit seed having antimicrobial activity

PURPOSE: Provided is a pharmaceutical composition having excellent antimicrobial activity by mixing and processing chitosan, chitosanoligosaccharide and the extract of grapefruit seeds. The pharmaceutical composition has strong antibacterial effect on helicobacter pylori, and excellent acid tolerance and thermostability. Therefore, it is useful for the treatment of stomach ulcer. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial composition is characterized by essentially containing 2-90 wt.% of chitosan, 5-90 wt.% of chitooligosaccharide and 3-40 wt.% of the extract of grapefruit seeds. The molecular weight of each chitosan and chitooligosaccharide ranges from 100000 to 1000000, and 3000-30000, respectively.
