PURPOSE: A method for controlling the closed loop power of a backward link using data transfer speed in the mobile communication system is provided to carry out power control only for the power control group corresponding to data transfer speed. CONSTITUTION: A first message transmitting/receiving part transfers a transfer speed information signal, transmitted from a transfer detection part, to a base station(S1). The recognizes data transfer speed, and transmits the transfer speed information signal to a control station(S2). The control station determines a power control group to carry out power control, then transmits a power control signal to a mobile station(S3). According to the power control signal, the mobile station transmits a voice data to the base station(S4). A channel element installed in the base station receives the voice data and carries out demodulation operation only for corresponding data transfer speed(S5). A call control processor installed in the control station receives the voice data and executes call processing(S6).
