The present invention provides a method for producing thiadiazole sulfone . In particular, the method of the present invention is used to manufacture the right by using the catalytic oxidation in the presence of an oxidizing agent 2- (methylsulfonyl ) -5- (trifluoromethyl) -1,3,4-thiadiazole . The preferred oxidizing agent is hydrogen peroxide. The catalyst system used in the oxidation reaction is a mixture of boric acid and glacial acetic acid . Glacial acetic acid for 2- ( methylthio ) -5- (trifluoromethyl) -1,3,4-thiadiazole in a molar ratio from about 0.1 : 1 to about 0.5 : 1.
