FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: method involves fitting rigid contact lenses manufactured from gas-permeable material to patients. Light and moderate ametropia to ±6.00 D within emmetropia and keratoconus of I, II stage being the case, the rigid gas-permeable contact lenses are selected from materials of high and moderate permeability to oxygen with Dk≥60 units. High degree ametropia higher than ±6.00 D and keratoconus of III stage being the case, the rigid gas-permeable contact lenses are selected from materials of low permeability to oxygen with Dk60 units.;EFFECT: high vision acuity; reduced risk of hypoxic complications on cornea; improved tolerance to the contact lenses.
