METHOD FOR TREATING EYEBALL PREATROPHY CASES

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: method involves doing sectoral incisions in conjunctiva and Tenon's capsule between direct eye muscles, retaining blood vessels going towards limb in the region of conjunctival Tenon's bridge in the direct eye muscles projection. Four strips of dermoadipose grafts are placed between the direct eye muscles, with one of their bases adjacent to posterior eyeball pole and with the other bases to the direct eye muscles attachment place. The strips are shaped to match failing eyeball volume shape. The fifth dermoadipose graft is placed around the limb as ring having semicircular notches to receive all direct eye muscles, their radii are made greater than length of muscle attachment to sclera. The internal ring diameter depends on cornea size and its external diameter 3-5 mm higher than direct eye muscles attachment level. The fifth dermoadipose graft is fixed with interrupted sutures to sclera and to four dermoadipose grafts placed between the direct eye muscles. Conjunctiva and Tenon's capsule are sutured above the grafts.;EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in increasing eyeball volume, strengthening equatorial zone and uniformly distributing traction forces exerted by the direct eye muscles; immobilized ciliary body zone; formed supporting platform for cosmetic prosthesis.;2 dwg
