The unit includes no secondary guidance elements for pivoting, at other locations on the second machine component (e.g. the machine frame). At least one positioning component (4, 6) of the second end (10, 11) can only be pivoted around a defined pivot axis (7, 8) (e.g. a machine frame pillar) perpendicular to the axis of travel with respect to the second machine component. The first end (9, 11) fastened rigidly to the first machine component (2), or pivoting only about a further axis (13) perpendicular to the direction of travel, can be pivoted with respect to the first machine part. Pivoting of the first end with respect to the second is blocked about an axis in the plane of travel and transverse to an axis running in the direction of spacing alteration of the ends, or rotation of the first end with respect to a second end about an axis in direction of the spacing variation of the ends is blocked.
