An arrangement for the determination of material properties and / or concentrations of components of a sample, comprising a chromatographic separation column with a liquid solvent, means for controlling the temperature within the separation column in a range between room temperature and 250°C, means for generating a relative to the ambient pressure increased pressure level within the separation column and a detector with a sample chamber, in which the components of the sample can be inserted, is characterized in that the mobile phase contains predominantly water, means for expansion of the eluent of the increased pressure level within the separation column on the ambient pressure and the generation of a change in phase of the eluent of the liquid to the gaseous phase, are provided and means for transferring the the components of the sample contained, gaseous solvent in the sample chamber of the detector are provided.
