A snow shovel has a plastic blade (S) incorporating a number of stiffening ribs (V) in the direction of motion. The snow shovel leading edge incorporates a steel, aluminium or brass strip that is encased in plastic during manufacture. In use, the plastic coating is abraded to reveal the metal strip.
