Switching over from partial load to full load operation takes place by displacing inlet cam shaft until a maximum torque with partial load cam is attained. The switchover takes place at low or medium speeds without degradation of efficiency. An independent claim is also included for the internal combustion engine with an inlet valve and a switching system.
