Preparation of an oncolytic virus suspension (A) comprises: (a) culturing a tumor cell line; (b) inoculating the cells with virus; (c) selecting viruses in the cellular supernatant for ability to induce syncitia and oncolysis; and (d) recovering selected viruses. An independent claim is also included for viruses prepared by the new method. ACTIVITY : Cytostatic. No details of tests for cytostatic activity are given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Virus-induced lysis of tumor cells and syncytia formation.
