The method involves turning OFF the pneumatic components of a support mechanism to stop air pressure in suspension components (23) of the pneumatic cushioning system (21) of a semitrailer (1). The pressure in the pneumatic components can be adjusted when the air pressure in the pneumatic air cushioning system is stopped. Support legs (4) are provided when overloaded semitrailer is detected. An independent claim is also included for the damage prevention arrangement.
