The station has a coating unit (6) for a lens (2) and a recognition unit (7) for the recognition of lens types and or markings on the lens. A transportation unit (4) transports the lenses between the coating unit, the recognition unit (7) and the station (3a). The lens is positioned at the output of the machine by means of the transportation unit (4) and the lens is moved on the transportation unit by a conveyor (15). A magazine (8), designed as a drum, has supporting rings, and can be moved up to the output of the machine.
