Optimized preparation of a thermally useful gas mixture (I) (not consisting of methane gas, hydrogen and carbon dioxide) from biodegradable free-flowing solid materials and solid material mixture (A) under anaerobic conditions comprises addition of oxidized inorganic combustion residues, before the production of (I), with a water content of 45-65% in a reaction body by biological degradation. Method for optimized preparation of a thermally useful gas mixture (I) (not consisting of methane gas, hydrogen and carbon dioxide) from biodegradable free-flowing solid materials and solid material mixture (A) under anaerobic conditions comprises addition of oxidized inorganic combustion residues (in a ratio of 2-40 wt.%) to (A), before the production of (I), with a water content of 45-65% in a reaction body by biological degradation. An independent claim is also included for a reaction body for optimized preparation of (I).
