A wiper arm (12,22) carried on a wiping plate is arranged on a slider (10,20). A guide rail (11,21) and a drive motor (15) are arranged outside the rear door region. The wiper arm moves from a wiping position to a rest position in which opening of the rear door is enabled. An independent claim is included for a further wiper apparatus.
