A directing device (1) for a moving fibrous sheet, having a guiding surface (4) (over which the whole width of the sheet (5) extends) and at least partially formed from air-permeable porous material which is impacted with compressed gas (11) such that the gas flows through the porous material to create a gas film (14) between the guiding surface and sheet, consists of a carrier (2) and a sliding shoe (3) which forms the guiding surface and is provided at the inlet side (6) with an elongated take-up projection (7), at an apical angle alpha of 25-45[deg] and curved with a radius of curvature (R1) of 2-10 mm.
