The seat has air and/or humidity permeable occupant contact surface (3) on the seat part and/or back rest. The air flow (8) is passed through the occupant contact surface by means of a blower. A by-pass duct (9) is arranged between the blower and the range offside of the occupant contact surface. An independent claim is also included for a procedure for ventilating a seat.
