First(1) and second(1') strip substrates are prepared, both having two adhesive coated surfaces(3,4;3',4'). A first adhesive surface(4) of the first adhesive substrate is powder coated(5) and latter is laminated with the second strip with the powder coated surface(5) of the first substrate covering one of the adhesive surfaces of the second substrate. The first adhesive surface(4') of the second strip substrate(1') may also be powder coated(5') and then the two substrates laminated together so that the powder coated surface(5) of the first substrate(1) covers the powder coated surface of the second substrate and a film(8) is formed with adhesive surfaces(3,3') on the outer surfaces. Both substrates are similar double sided adhesive tapes prior to powder coating. During lamination both substrates are brought together with the powder coated surface of the first substrate covering one of the adhesive surfaces of the second substrate and pressure and/or temperature applied. Alternatively where both substrates are powder coated the two powder coated surfaces are brought together and pressure and/or heat applied. In both cases the lamination may be achieved by passing both substrates between heated rolls. An independent claim is included for a decorative film with adhesive on both surfaces produced by the claimed method.
