The automatic start-stop system for the motor of a vehicle, e.g. when stopped at traffic lights and the like, operates at least one system (19,20) in the automatic transmission (14) i.e. a disk clutch or disk brake with slippage when the motor (11) is restarted (12) after an automatic stop to drive the transmission train (10).
