A method of bringing a permanent magnet (16) up to a ferromagnetic carrier (20) to be held by a force comprises placing the magnet in a holder (38), applying a second force at least equal to the first, leading the holder to the carrier until the magnet front face (18) contacts the carrier, reducing the force and withdrawing the holder. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a device for the above method; (B) a manipulating tool;and (C) aproduction process for the above.
