The vertical bag forming, filling and sealing machine includes a filling pipe to accommodate a film tube, a filling station for the filling pipe, longitudinal and transverse welding units, and a separating device for the separation of formed bags (16) from the film tube. A forming unit is provided to bring a separate film sheet (2) into the inside of the film tube, and an additional welding device is provided to weld the longitudinal edges (24,25) of the separate film sheets to the inner surface of the film tube.
