The method involves selecting one detection variant based on a receipt parameter (EP) concerning a signal strength of a received signal (Y). One of the variants is selected, if the parameter is smaller than a limit value. The other variant is selected, if the parameter is larger than or equal to the limit value. The value of limit values (G2, G3) depends on signal-to-interfering signals ratio. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a radio station for a radio communication system (B) a computer program for the execution of a detection variant selection method.
