Using degenerated prolapsed intervertebral disc tissue to produce a therapeutic product for treating intervertebral disc defects, is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing intervertebral disc (ID) transplants by: (a) isolating ID cells from prolapsed degenerated ID tissue and/or diseases ID tissue; and (b) culturing the cells as 3-dimensional aggregates in the presence of autologous serum; (2) ID regeneration product produced by isolating cells from degenerated ID tissue and culturing and harvesting the cells; and (3) use of the ID regeneration product for drug testing.
