The method involves mapping edges (K1, K2) on a two-dimensional detector (D) by an optic (O), so that images of illuminated parts of the edges are drawn due to an optical contrast that exists between the parts and the image background. An intersection point of the images of the edges is calculated from positions, of the images of the parts, recorded by an image processing (B) on the detector within a detector-coordination system. The optic and the detector are components of a camera, to which the image processing is affiliated. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining an intersection point of images of edges.
