Application device has expandable substance (16), which expands in its volume when activated, freezes in expanded state and adheres on the carrier material (10) e.g. cardboard. The device also has a print head which activates the substance on carrier material, which is to be layered, in such a way that the embossed points and/or lines arise to form words in an embossed printing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Method for labeling of carrier material with embossed printing; and (B) Application of expandable substance.
