A method for channel estimation in RF communication system, in which a frequency band (F-band) divided into a number of sub-bands (sub1-sub8) is used and on at least one first sub-carrier (sub1-sub5) receives a known symbol sequence (PL-LOT) and is used for channel estimation for this sub-carrier (sub1-sub5). A reception-side unknown symbol sequence is received on at least one second sub-carrier and is used for channel estimation for this sub-carrier. Independent claims are included for the following: (A) A device for channel estimation in an RF communication system.(B) A receiver (RX) in an RF communication system with a device for channel estimation.
