The dynamometer has a oar inducing a moment in a drive chain (1) with a flexible coupling (25). The coupling receives and passes the torsional moment to an electromechanical drive having a servo motor or a torque motor by a spring mechanism, where the drive is controlled by software and a change of the moment causes a relative rotation between two coupling halves.
