The fibrous suspension (S) sieving system has a tangential entry (8) to an entrance chamber (4). There are paddles (17) on an extended top surface of a rotor (13). There is an outlet (5) for heavy components thrown outward by the rotor. Liquid with light components flows through a narrow gap (14) into an annular chamber inside the cylindrical sieve (1). Paddles (7) on the rotor stir the suspension and keep the sieve clean as liquid flows through it. Sieved fine suspension passes into an outer chamber (9) and an outlet (10). Coarse material passes through an outlet (11) at the bottom, and may be partially recycled (16).
