Distance sensor device (1) has a measurement circuit (9) that subjects at least three active measurement elements (211,221,231,..) to respective phase-shifted transmission signals and determines the relative position of at least one coupling element to the active measurement elements by comparing the phases of the transmission signals with the phase of a measurement signal received from a passive measurement element (31).
