Process to manufacture a fibre fleece product for hygiene applications incorporating looped link to substrate material

In a process to manufacture a plastic-based fleece hygiene product, granular products are heat extruded as fibres into two or more webs then air-laid in sandwich format. The sandwich is then bonded with a substrate containing loops. The loops stand proud of the substrate, and are linked with the fibres by calendar action, chemical bond, ultrasonic action, infrared radiation, spin-lacing or air-through-bonding. The link between substrate and fleece fibres is a linear geometric pattern e.g. squares, polygons, triangles, pentagons or hexagons. The fibres are synthetic polymers or natural fibres laid up in sandwich format incorporating spun-bond or hotmelt fibres of length 4 to 60 mm. The link lines are spaced at preferably 5 mm intervals.
