The device has a position testing attachment (7) to test false position of a stud using a robot based on a given position information of the stud. A turning moment testing attachment (6) is provided to test the rigidity of a welded joint based on the information. Attachments (6, 7) are demountably fastened to a robot arm and aligned in succession in such a manner that the attachment (6) is tightened at free ends of the stud. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a position and rigidity of a welded stud.
