An inertial jet propulsion especially for a hydrojet boat has the water intake (3) as a curved section with the apex directed forwards. The water flow enters an impeller (2) via a widening duct and is forced out via a curved duct (4) at the forward end of the thruster and with the apex of the duct directed forwards. The water flow finally leaves via a rearwards directed nozzle. The total thrust is a combination of the reaction thrust forces on the curved ducts as well as the rearwards directed nozzle.
