The method involves mechanically or chemically structuring substrate layers (100) by partially removing a material from the substrate layers, and forming elevated projections at surface of the substrate layers. One of the elevated projections is formed into an integral profile-like reinforcing unit e.g. T-shaped stringer (300), by deformation using one of the cylinders, on the substrate layers. An independent claim is also included for an application of a method for manufacturing a wing structure for an aircraft.
